THE CITY OF MARQUETTE ARTS AND CULTURE CENTER ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY ART PROJECT: LSAA’s “About Town”

The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center announces the continued community art project, put on by LSAA called, “About Town.” Due to popular demand, another image has been added to the existing five.

The last image of the Father Marquette statue has been sectioned off into six pieces. Local artists will use their own media to interpret one of the grid pieces on to a 8-inch by 10-inch canvas. The canvas and image can be picked up at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center during regular business hours. The six completed mosaic interpretations will be put together and displayed during July's celebration of the unveiling of the refurbished Father Marquette statue.

The artwork must be returned to the MACC no later than June 8, without exception.

For additional information please contact the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center at 906-228-0472 or email arts-culture@mqtcty.org.
